Hello lovely people and welcome to Body & Mind by Ester!
My name is Ester (surprise!) and this is my very first blog post ever..how exciting!
It has taken me a good 7 months before making the decision to post anything, but here I am now.
As the name of my website suggests, I'm a firm believer that there is a strong connection between the body and the mind. If you think about it, green juices and kale chips alone have never made someone truly happy, saved marriages or rescued you from a toxic relationship. Our bodies work together with our minds, so you can't improve one, without the other.
In order to have a thriving life and be the best version of ourselves, we have to nourish our bodies with the most nourishing nutrients as well as our relationships and aspirations.
In this blog the goal for me is to cover what I have learned to have a happy and healthy body and mind, from yummy recipes to healthy lifestyle choices.
At this point, you're probably thinking: "She doesn't know anything about real life; I don't have time to look after my mental state just give me the secret to life long weight loss; etc.."
Well, I work in the corporate world and I am aware how difficult it is to stay on track with healthy eating and regular exercise. I also know how frustrating it can be to lose those extra pounds to fit in your pre-holidays jeans. Believe me, the key to a healthy body is a healthy mind, and viceversa.
Personally, I experienced this on first hand when I suffered from a very acute form of eczema for almost 10 years. Nothing worked. At the end of it, I went gluten-free, dairy-free, everything free...I was on green juices, organic only foods and became too obsessed with whatever I was putting in my mouth. Yes, I had an amazing flat stomach, but the eczema was still there and, actually, it was meaner than ever. You know when it started to disappear? The day I decided that for that weekend I would enjoy a glass of wine and a burger with my family who came visit from Europe. This is how powerful the mind can be over our body!
